SA Fashion Week A/W 14

Paris Fashion Week just wrapped up and it was our turn to do this thing called Fashion Week.  I received my invites to three days of SA Fashion Week and even though it was the same designers we all know and love, I got the chance to see some new cats on the block, such as Laz Yani and his label Cuttier. His collection consisted of cool prints, monochrome and silhouettes. With yellow and green as his colours. Wow, his models were absolutely gorgeous and so diverse. Yall do know i am at Fashion Week just for the schmodels right?.

Another stand out show was Suzaan Heyns. Her collection for A/W 2014 was inspired by Mini Mouse, you know the Disney Character? No? Okay.  Bows, bubble jackets and leather trended in her show. I have mad respect for this designer as she is the only designer in SA to take things to another level. Her collections are out of this world and so international.

Saturday was a totally different show for SA Fashion Week and eco trend forecaster, Craig Jacobs. His show was offsite on a rooftop building in Rosebank. I got to the venue and I was like no freaking way! The runway was full of stones and pebbles. His collection this year for Fundudzi was called Metamorphosis and it was inspired by the evolution of Butterflies. He had his celeb friends take on the *catwalk*. The likes of Pearl Thusi (who nailed it by the way, such a professional model), Delish the Big Brother winner, Weza Solange, Sashi Naidoo (another pro) and Vimbai. The other models struggled on this runway, like proper struggled. It was an awesome show and one can see that Craig Jacobs has once again evolved as a designer.

Oh and so you must be wondering what I wore?

I kept it simple on Day 1 with a suite and grey shirt. Day1, I wore a Pray For Paris T-shirt and red blazer and Day 3 I rocked a Traditional Indian top from Mumbai courtesy of a good friend Hypress. (No Photos)
